Muscat: Some parts of Oman witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall and lightning on Sunday.

According to the Met office, the Al Hajar mountains witnessed rainfall as the clouds moved to the costal areas of Oman.

The Met office also expected the clouds to reach the Dhofar governorate.

Some parts of Muscat have witnessed light showers, while the sky was cloudy.

Meanwhile, clear to partly cloudy skies are expected over most parts of Oman on Monday with chances of thundershowers associated with fresh downdraft winds and hail over Al Hajar mountains and adjoining areas in the afternoon.

There are also chances of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches along the southeastern coast.
