Arsalan and Al Nahdha clinch Sohar Cup and Champion Cup titles

Sohar: Arsalan and Al Nahdha came up with sterling performances to lift the Sohar Cup and Champion Cup respectively.

In Sohar Cup final, Arsalan defeated Mangalore Friends. Batting first, Arsalan scored 41 runs in
10 overs.

In reply, Mangalore Friends managed to score just 33 runs. For Arsalan, Shahid claimed two wickets for five runs while Kaleemullah bagged one.

In Champion Cup final, Al Nahdha defeated Al Rasasi by 44 runs. Batting first, Al Nahdha scored 88 runs and then restricted Al Rasasi for 44 runs.

Sohar Cup prize-giving ceremony was presided over by M. S. Jha and the chief guest at Champion Cup final day proceedings was Rajiv Tendon.

The special guests were Sikander Iqbal, Salim al Sheedi, Murshed Al Balushi, Khamees Al Badi and Hamdan Sherawi.

Sohar Cup was sponsored by Al Nahdha and Champion Cup by Al Fathe. The organisers presented a number of prizes at the final ceremony including three Umrah tickets, five gold chains, mobile phones, wall clocks, perfumes, computers, toys and other electronic items. The winners prize was worth $500.

The organisers announced the dates of next tournament, Super Cup, which will be hosted sponsored by Al Fathe and will start on May 22.
