Muscat: Oman Air has launched a major advertising campaign with the airline's brand emblazoned across some of London's iconic 'black' cabs.
For the next 12 months, 12 traditional London taxis will feature stunning images of Oman and four of the airline's most beautiful onward destinations.
The taxi campaign aims to generate greater awareness about Oman Air, the multi-award winning national airline of Oman, and the many stunning destinations it flies to, including the Sultanate itself.
Painted in the distinctive turquoise of the airline's corporate identity, each cab features one of four striking images of Oman on one side, together with photographs of one of four beautiful locations — Sri Lanka, Maldives, Thailand or India — on the other side. In addition, Oman Air-branded taxi receipts are handed out to customers to complete the advertising exercise.
As the only airline to fly daily, non-stop from London Heathrow to Muscat, this is the first time the airline has undertaken an advertising campaign of this scale, using taxis, in the city.
Acting Country Manager, UK and Ireland Jamal Al Azki, said: "The quintessentially British black cab provides the perfect platform to promote the Oman Air brand in a unique and dynamic way.
Londoners are keen travellers and the city also attracts huge numbers of visitors every year. We are confident that the taxis will become a talking point and will generate interest in visiting Oman, with its breath-taking landscapes and unparalleled hospitality.
