Muscat: The top four in the women's singles justified their top billing having reached the semifinals at the Bank Muscat-sponsored annual badminton tournament organised by the Indian Social Club (ISC) Muscat.

Top seed and defending champion Bharathi Ramachandran took her place in the semifinal after convincingly defeating Reeta Shenoy 15-3, 15-8 and was joined in the semis by second seed Alka Dhavale, who registered a 15-6, 15-6 victory over Vijayasree Rajan.

Third seed Mayaja Harish also advanced to the semifinal after her comfortable 15-2, 15-3 victory over Triveni Naidu and fourth seed Jessy Joseph survived a late surge in the second game before overcoming Savita 15-4, 16-14.
