Store fined for expired goods
Muscat: The Penal Department of Shinas Primary Court held a commercial store guilty of  selling goods past their expiry date. Selling such goods is a violation of the Consumer Protection Law No. 81/2002. The case was referred by the Public Prosecution to the primary court in Shinas. The judgement stipulated a fine of OMR15,000 and also ordered the goods to be confiscated.

e-system to help SMEs get support
Muscat: Khalifa bin Said Al Abri, acting CEO of the Public Authority for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (PADSME), said that the e-system for allocating 10 per cent of public purchases and tenders to the SMEs has been activated at 18 public organisations. These organisations have started awarding a part of their tenders to the SMEs.
