Muscat: To mark the occasion of the 44th Renaissance Day, the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) launched a new initiative to  provide information.

As part of the scheme, the public transport buses travelling from Muscat to different regions across the Sultanate will be decorated with statistical figures and information.

Painted with charts and infographics, the 15 buses detail the Sultanate's joy and celebration of 44 years of achievements. Two buses are set to be driven to Al Wadi Al Kabir area of Muscat, six buses are heading down south to Salalah, while the rest are scheduled to travel to Marmul, Fahud, Sur, Quriyat, Ibri, Buraimi, and one bus to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The NCSI's information buses are painted and decorated with figures and statistical infographics that showcase data about the number of building permits; the total number of government employees, the total number of Omanis registered at the Public Authority for Social Insurance; average daily production of crude oil; the volume wise production of natural gas; the volume of water and electricity production; the length of paved roads; participation and support; export of goods and services; total number of schools; beneficiaries of government aid; number of hotels and motels; as well as revenue from hotels.

This initiative reflects the significant role of the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) as the official statistical authority in the Sultanate, revealing figures and data related to the achievements witnessed in Oman over the last 44 years.

They are a clear indication of development and prosperity the country has experienced under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. With the Oman 2020 Plan underway, the Sultanate is well on its way on the path to a very bright and successful future, which is being presented by these  buses.
