Muscat: An expatriate driver was reportedly electrocuted in Ghala at around 10am Tuesday morning while he was moving iron rods from the vehicle, eyewitnesses said.

"The victim was moving iron rods from the crane truck. Unfortunately, the iron rods might have come into contact with the power line. The victim was electrocuted. He fell from the vehicle and died on the spot," witnesses told Times of Oman.

Even though police and ambulances rushed to the spot, they could not save his life.

"We suspect that the victim is a Pakistan national," witnesses added.

The body has now been moved by the police.
