Oman offers scholarships to Pakistani students

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is offering scholarships to Pakistani students under the Omani Cultural and Scientific Cooperation Programme, said a statement from the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, Government of Pakistan.

The scholarship, which is for the session 2014-15, has been offered in different educational fields in higher education. Candidates who fulfil the terms and conditions of the Oman Government Scholarship Programme can apply directly online on the following websites:

www.heac.gov.om www.cbfs.edu.om www.squ.edu.om www.omancollege.edu.om www.uob.edu.om, the statement added.

The students will be given OMR200 per month as expenses towards their accommodation, transport and food. "A return ticket will be given once a year and in case of any illness they will be given free medical treatment at the Government Hospital," it said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Higher Education, University of Kuwait has also offered five scholarships for Pakistani students for the academic year 2014-15. "The scholarships offered are in the faculty of Arts, faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies, faculty of Biology Sciences and in the Arabic Language at the Language Centre, Kuwait University," the statement added.

All interested Pakistani candidates who fulfil all the terms and conditions of the Kuwait University are advised to directly submit their applications online at registrar.ku.edu.kw or at registrar@ku.edu.kw.

The scholarships are fully funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Kuwait, with return air tickets once in a year.
