Solanki Trading register win against Bank Muscat

Muscat: Skipper Wasim Solanki with bowling figures of 3 for 28 and Wasim Ali with 3 for 31 helped Solanki Trading record a 41 run win against Bank Muscat. The Oman Cricket organised G Division Group A 25 overs a side match played during the week end at the Municipality ground No.4 at Al Amerat.

Bating first Solanki Trading lost both opening batman with 10 runs on the board in two overs but recovered to reach 229 for the loss of nine wickets at the end of 25 overs. Faisal Hameed led the way with a top score of 77 while Miraj Hussain 31, Wasim Ali 30 and Usman Siddique 26 all chipped in with useful contributions. Skipper Dalal Pratik A. headed the bowling department with figures of 3 for 45 off 5 overs with support from Ashish Gupta and Nilmani who claimed two wickets conceding 23 and 33 runs respectively.

Requiring 230 for a win Bank Muscat were bowled out for 188 off 23.5 overs with major contributions coming from Nilmani 51, Mony 46 and Avinash 37. The other bowlers to impress were Miraj Hussain and Jack Rajendra who bagged two wickets each conceding 30 and 42 runs respectively.

Brief scores: Solanki Trading 229 for the loss of 9 wickets off 25 overs (Faisal Hameed 77, Miraj Hussain 31, Wasim Ali 30 and Usman Siddique 26; Dalal Pratik A. 3/45, Ashish Gupta 2/23 and Nilmani 2/33) beat Bank Muscat 188 all out off 23.5 overs (Nilmani 51, Mony 46 and Avinash 37; Wasim Solanki 3/28, Wasim Ali 3/31, Miraj Hussain 2/30 and Jack Rajendra 2/42). Points:    Solanki Trading - 2 points (4 games – 8 points) and Bank Muscat - Nil points (5 games – 6 points).

Muscat Electronics win
Muscat Electronics continued with their winning streak with a 94 run win against Uday Khimji International. The two teams clashed in a G Division Group B 25 over match played in the morning at the OAC 3 grounds at Seeb.

Invited to bat Muscat Electronics playing with 10 men scored 189 for the loss of nine wickets off their quota of 25 overs. Opener Wajid Ali top scored with 64 runs. Nobish Gopi scored a run a ball 26 with one boundary and K.G. Bentick made 21. Amol Meshram picked up three wickets giving away 31 runs off 5 overs.

Uday Khimji International in reply were bowled out for a measly 95 run off 19 overs with skipper Roshan Mankar opening the batting chipping in with an unbeaten 32. The bowlers to cause the damage were Jeetendray Desai 3 for 23 off 5 overs while Nobish Gopi and C.V. Vijeesh bagged two wickets each conceding 1 and 16 runs respectively.

Brief scores: Muscat Electronics 189 for the loss of 9 wickets off 25 overs (Wajid Ali 64, Nobish Gopi 26 and K.G. Bentick 21; Amol Meshram 3/31) defeated Uday Khimji International 95 all out off 19 overs (Roshan Mankar 32no; Jeetendray Desai 3/23, Nobish Gopi 2/1 and C.V. Vijeesh 2/16). Points: Muscat Electronics - 2 points (5 games – 10 points) and Uday Khimji International - Nil points (5 games – 6 points).

MCCC B lose

In the afternoon in another G Division Group B match played at the same venue ISC Urdu Wing defeated MCCC B by two wickets.

Deciding to bat MCCC B playing with 10 men lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 148 off 24.1 overs. Young Gimash Dias opening the batting made a stubborn 69 and was seventh out. Omani player Nofel Mahmood was the pick of the bowlers ending with figures of 3 for 26 off 5 overs whilst skipper Syed Salman and Chetan Sharma picked up two wickets each conceding 17 and 25 runs respectively.

ISC Urdu Wing in reply were precariously placed at 85 for the loss of six wickets but recovered to reach their target scoring 154 for the loss of 8 wickets off 23.1 overs thanks to a brilliant 42 from No.7 batsman Chetan Sharma. Earlier opening the batting Nofel Mahmood scored a useful 24. The bowlers to be amongst the wickets were Brijesh J.G. 3 for 24 and Leslie Monis 2 for 31 off 5 overs each.
