Khafeef International Dance festival to rock Muscat

Muscat: Preparations are in full swing for 'Khafeef International Dance Festival', a Talent Hunters Oman's presentation. Best of the best dancing talents of Oman have confirmed their participation which is sure to make this event the biggest and the most popular. The event will be held on Thursday, January 17, at City Amphitheatre, Qurum.

The groups and individuals participating are as follows:

  • All Omani Groups: SNK  REVO,  Expensive Crew  (Aber ) and Street Boyz  
  • Oman Salsa Group: (Thuwaini),  Ballet and Folklore Center – (Alena)
  • Latino Dance Muscat: ( Fendi and Bannia),  Zumba Dance Class – Renatta Gressai
  • Rhythm: (Srividhya),    D'Smarites ( Vineetha and Aishwarya)
  • Waji Shri Group - Sri Lankan Cultural Dance Group, Delicious Dance Academy
  • Spell Bound Dance Crew – (Dilip), Strings Dance and Music Institute – (RajeshandRenjini)
  • Individuals -  Tonia, Natasha Shetty, Sheryl Jose, Melvin, Varsha
  • Couple –  Amu and Divya Pradeep
Variety  of dances such as Salsa, Bachata, Tango , Lombard a, Zumba, Contemporary, Western dances, Classical Ballet, Modern Ballet, Tango Gymnastic, Chelston, Oriental, Free style, Hip-hop, Skate Dance, African Jungle Dance, Fusion Dances, Srilankan Cultural Dance, Hindi (Bollywood) Cinematic dances, Fusion Dances (Classical Based), Innovative Dances.
Categories of the dance festival include   are solo, duet, group. Around 120 dancing talents are are working hard to bring out their best.

"Like all our shows held in past such as 'Muscat Idols', 'Muscat Icons', 'Musical Journey' and 'Dance Muscat Dance', this show is going to be of the highest quality. It is a show and not a competition. Omanis and around 12 different nationalities residing in Muscat will be sharing the biggest stage of Oman. It is going to foot tapping and rocking show for the audience." said Dr. Sanjay Dalal, director of the show.

"Many dance forms are unheard of by most in Oman. It is going to change the dance scenario/ dance culture of Muscat-Oman. We are very excited and thrilled to have such talented dancers joining our hands. They are all exotic, entertaining and beautiful dances. It is really astonishing to know that so many varieties of dances are performed and training is available for the same in Muscat. It is going to be a truly international dance festival". Dr. Sateja Dalal, a well-known exponent of Indian classical dances and backstage coordinator of the show expressed.

"We are going to make the biggest dance floor. We are also getting the best sound and light system to inject life in to the show and make it most glamorous.  Back drop will also be a thing to watch." Haider Naqvi, technical coordinator of the show said. The entry is Free By Invitation only.  Advance reservation is open.
