New Delhi: In the wake of the brutal gangrape of a 23-year-old student here, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor called for reassessment of the existing laws in India for speedy justice.

Kareena was in the capital to announce the 58th Idea Filmfare awards ceremony.

"Whatever happened, it really should not have happened. In our country, we always take safety measures after any shocking incident happens. I definitely would like to say that getting justice in the country is really time taking. Our laws should be reassessed. Justice has to happen faster," she said.

Shame: Salman
Terming the gangrape of a medical student here a "shame", Bollywood superstar Salman Khan said that such criminals need to be taught a lesson.

"The first thought which comes to the mind is — such people should be killed — but there are too many things which we have to follow. It is a shame that such a thing has happened, how can somebody commit such a heinous crime," Salman added.
