14,181 jobs for citizens

Muscat: The Civil Service Ministry yesterday issued a statement on the details of the recruitment procedures for more than 14,000 citizens in the civil service sector during the coming period.

Following is the statement text:
"Within  the framework of the implementation of the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to provide 56,000 job opportunities, 36,000 of them in public service (Civil and Military), and 20,000 in the private sector, the Ministry of Civil Service has started the procedure of recruiting 14,181 citizens, the portion devoted to the civil service, who will be instated in the coming period.

"The Ministry, in coordination with all other ministries and government units operating under the Civil Service Law and its executive regulation in order to identify their vacancies and needs according to the number allocated to each unit. These requirements should include both type of jobs, (specialised or ordinary) job requirements, qualifications (for example college degree or general education diploma or others)."

The Civil Service Ministry said it has sent those requirements to Public Authority of Manpower Register (PAMR) to select the citizens who meet the requirements needed for each post, pursuant to the provisions of Clause 5 of Article 3 of the PAMR Act promulgated by Royal Decree No. 98/2011.

This law relates to PAMR's responsibility in nominating the citizens seeking employment and who are eligible to fill vacant posts in the units of the administrative apparatus of the State (civil, military and security) and private sector enterprises.
