Muscat: Excitement is in the air for the first-ever Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan 'Main Jahan Rahoon' show at the City Amphitheatre, Qurum, (January 25, at 7 pm), brought to Muscat by NPA Events. Music enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to Khan's performance of his rich and varied music, covering everything from Bollywood hits to Sufi and Qawwali music.

"In this first mega show of the new year, we have left no stone unturned to make the concert memorable for a long time to come. During my meeting with Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, he promised to regale the audience with his rich repertoire of songs.

The maestro will be accompanied by a troupe of 22 musicians and performers. Popular film, television and theatre personality Ayesha Sana will host the show, which will be a double treat for her fans," said Ashok Suvarna, Executive Director of NPA Events, who has strived hard for months with his team to put together yet another class act in Muscat.

Ayesha, the versatile, well-educated host of the evening, is a graduate of the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Delhi. Thereafter, she studied law at the Kinnaird College in Lahore and pursued further education at the University of London.

She is the host of the television show Lines of Style. In 2006, she became a member of the board of executives for PTV's popular show Meena Bazaar and has been hosting the show ever since from the PTV Centre in Lahore. Ayesha has also performed for various plays and stage shows in Dubai and European countries. She has acted in the drama series Pehli Barish, which was produced in Germany.

Every little detail of the concert has been handled meticulously to ensure that audiences enjoy the show. For the first time, portable washrooms have been organised at the ground level of the City Amphitheatre for the convenience of VVIP and VIP guests.

There are also washrooms on the upper levels for guests seated in the stalls. A play area for children aged up to 5 years has also been arranged for the first time. Parents should call 93218272 to register in advance. Also, paramedics will be at hand with an ambulance at the entrance of the City Amphitheatre to handle all emergencies.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Guests with tickets for the stalls should occupy their seats as soon as possible. VVIP and VIP guests can occupy their numbered seats between 6:15 and 6:45 p.m. The 'Main Jahan Rahoon' show will start on time at 7 p.m.

Besides the usual A and B parking bays outside the City Amphitheatre, there are two additional parking bays, C and D, inside the Qurum Gardens, with exits through the gardens and next to the Ice Skating Rink.

Ticket sales are moving fast, and only a few currently remain before the show goes house full. Those who would like to enjoy the mega concert can still get tickets from the LuLu outlets in Darsait, Wadi Kabir, Bowsher and Seeb or from the NPA Events office at Lima House in Greater Muttrah.
