Businessmen in Oman get networking opportunity

Muscat: A sold out crowd of more than 500 local and international businessmen got a rare networking opportunity by attending the Back-to-Business (B2B) event held on Tuesday at the Grand Hyatt Muscat, which was based on the theme “Leadership.”
During its third year, the biggest business networking event in Oman hosted international TED speaker Drew Dudley, who offered advice on entrepreneurship and business development.
Speaking to the Times of Oman, Garry Friend, general manager of Park Hyatt Zanzibar, said there is lack of major business networking events in Oman and B2B offers really good opportunities for Omanis to do business together and share their success stories.
Friend is also the former general manager of the Grand Hyatt Muscat and was the first to bring the concept of B2B to Oman.
At the event, guests also had the opportunity to meet and cook with the Peruvian Chef Bruno Andres Santa Cruz and sample some of his ceviches.
“Peruvian Ceviche,” is a delicacy known to have originated in Peru, where chefs use only the freshest products and ingredients available within the season.
Organised by representatives from non-profit business councils in Oman, including the Oman American Business Centre, the British Business Forum, the Australian Business Group Oman and the European Business People Group, B2B’s objective is to bring to the business community a great opportunity to reach small to large companies, meet new clients, potential business partners and possibly make new friends.
