Oman crime: Nationals arrested on drug charges

Muscat: Two Omani nationals were arrested by the Directorate General of Narcotics Control in Musandam for attempting to take the delivery of a drugs consignment. .
A senior official from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said that the Directorate General of Narcotics Control arrested the two suspects as they were extricating the drugs hidden on the beach. Officers reported finding 10 kilograms of hashish and 19,800 psychotropic pills, including a large amount of heroin and crystal methamphetamine.

National arrested
A senior official at the North Al Batinah Police said that investigating officers arrested an Omani man for entering a woman’s home and attempting to assault her. Details of the case indicate that the Sohar ROP received a call from the victim about an unidentified person armed with a knife entering her house. The suspect tried to sexually assault her, but the victim was able to resist and disarm the man, which resulted in the suspect fleeing the scene.
Following an investigation, the suspect was identified and arrested.
