Ministry of Tourism, Red Bull jointly organise Formula One Showrun

Muscat: Under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Taymoor bin Assad Al Said, the Ministry of Tourism has collaborated with the Red Bull Formula One Racing team to organise the Formula 1 Showrun in different locations in the Sultanate.
In the recent years, the Ministry of Tourism has taken a conscious decision to host and sponsor such events in the Sultanate and bring the attention of the international media to Oman. Through these events, the Ministry of Tourism aims to promote the country as an ideal destination for hosting sporting and entertainment events.
“It is part of our tourism strategy to promote and host such sporting events in the country. We are glad to have partnered with Red Bull in bringing the Austrian racing team to Oman. The public will certainly be thrilled to see their favourite team in action,” said Salim bin Adi Al Mamaari, directorate general of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Tourism.
He added, “This is not the first time we are working with Red Bull. In the past, we have collaborated during the Red Bull Cliff Diving event, which was held in Wadi Shab, Sur. The event elicited a wonderful response from the public and the media alike and went a long way in promoting the destination.
We are confident that this event will be no different.”
The event will start at 2 pm on Friday at Muttrah Corniche and is open to the general public.
A special racing route has been organised for racing cars in order ease traffic congestion.
Transportation
Also, transportation has been arranged to take the audience to the venue from three locations—the public parking near the Sultan Qaboos port, the State Council of Oman external parking and Riyam Park parking—where the public can park their vehicles.
