Learning and development is key to sustaining human co-existence

The findings of this year’s Arab Youth Survey by a regional media agency indicated an end to violence in the region, apparently offering a sigh of relief to the new generation in the waiting.
In reality, it resembles how the youth perceive the current and ongoing unrest in the region and even beyond, and how it requires to be tackled to sustain the true values of humanity across the world.
As the past few years have been an era of sorrow and disasters for the region, it took over people’s faith, thereby making them miss out on the key elements of a sensible life. The change in perception is a clear sign of realising the principles of life and making a commitment to take it further to bring back harmony and the feeling of unity.
Oman, being a country with a high tolerance level and one that is always committed to remaining peaceful and sympathetic, the involvement of their youth in the survey process has set an example for others in the region.
As a strategic partner, which is actively involved in a number of peace initiatives in the region and beyond in recent times, Oman’s role at a global level cannot be overlooked. This apparently demonstrates the Sultanate's policy and ethically proves that its approach towards transparency in every single initiative is worth applauding.
As education is key to making influential changes among the new generation, irrespective of the gender they belong to, the sooner people are aware of their roles and responsibilities in their respective societies, the easier it will be to bring peace and stability to society, and the region as a whole. Therefore, the youth in the country has a significant role to play while pursuing their educational and career objectives, despite the challenges in shaping up to a modern society.
Perhaps the most challenging aspect would be to implement what has been learned through various educational initiatives. However, with greater confidence, the empowering youth perceptions can overlay this gap.
In the context of increasing threats and obstacles, a changing youth approach will obviously bring confidence to people of all age groups. Thus, the improved educational infrastructure in the country can make serious efforts to attract the youth with adequate calibre to shape them up to face the challenges of tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the critical aspect of the survey is the youth realising their pivotal role to use a collective effort to calm down the unrest. It is critical for people in the new age groups realising their roles and responsibilities and how they can contribute to develop a strong and sustainable future.
Despite our world being advanced enough to tackle any physically or psychologically-challenged concern, it is greatly disappointing that the conflicts are largely upsetting the development perceptions of a progressive world. Thus, growth of any group, which believes in contradicting the thinking of the majority community, can affect a number of critical areas of progress, including education, unemployment and a peaceful co-existence.
In the new world of technology, violence can never be treated as the recipe to win the privileges of any traditional thinking. Instead, individuals must have the power to think of ways to achieve the best in order to make up a peaceful family environment, whilst paying enough attention to safeguard the society that we live in.
It is imperative to have the concept of education explored further for creating an era of peace and stability on earth, in which every single individual has a role to play. Learning and development must be the key to drive towards realising the value of life. Let this be a combined effort, spearheaded by the youth, and put into practice in our everyday life.
For sure, education can help make a massive leap in gaining the confidence of every single individual in a positive way. With a collective effort towards a wider perspective, it would allow the redesigning of the patterns of life towards the path of success. - Exclusive to Times of Oman
