Oman crime: Murdered nurse’s body to be flown back to India, says official

Muscat: Chikku Robert’s body will be flown to India on Sunday evening, the Indian consular agent in Salalah said.
“All the paper work has been done. The body will be first flown to Muscat and from there to India,” Manpreet Singh, the Indian consular agent, told Times of Oman.
Chikku, a nurse from the south Indian state of Kerala working with Badr Al Samaa hospital in Salalah, was found dead in her apartment with stab injuries on her body, late at night on April 20.
She was supposed to be on duty by 10pm on that day, but as she did not turn up for work, her husband Linson Thomas, who works in the same hospital, went to their apartment to look for her, where he found her dead body. Linson is under police detention as part of the investigation. Shaji Issac, Chikku’s uncle, also confirmed that the body will be flown to India on Sunday evening.
“We have been informed that the body will be flown on Sunday evening. It will reach by Monday morning at Kochi airport. We are waiting,” Shaji told Times of Oman over phone from India. Meanwhile, the Indian consular agent said that there is no update on Linson’s release so far. Chikku and Linson had married in October and she was five months pregnant when she was murdered.
