Oman tourism: flydubai to increase frequency to Salalah

Muscat: Flight frequency to Salalah has been increased by flydubai, the UAE-based budget airline, from July 1, 2016, the airline said in a statement.
“During the popular Khareef season from July 23 to September 28, the airline will add another daily flight between Salalah and Dubai, bringing the total frequency to Oman during that period to 63 flights a week,” the statement added.
The airline now operates 54 flights a week to Oman. The airline operates seven daily flights to Muscat and five weekly flights to Salalah, reflecting the increasing appetite to travel between Oman and the UAE.
“We are pleased to have this opportunity to meet our customers from the Omani market. Supported by the strong social and economic ties between our two brotherly nations, we began operations to Muscat in 2010 and we continued to grow our operations with the addition of Salalah in 2013. As one of our most highly-served markets with 54 flights a week, we remain committed to offering flexible options to our passengers to and from Oman,” Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai’s Chief Executive Officer, said.
By offering more options and flexibility, the airline now operates seven flights a day to the Omani capital. Salalah, which was a previously underserved, is now becoming an increasingly attractive destination for tourists from the UAE and other GCC countries.
Sudhir Sreedharan, Senior Vice President, Commercial (GCC, Subcontinent and Africa) for flydubai, said, "Oman is a trade and tourism hub for flydubai and we remain dedicated to offering passengers more options to travel between the two countries whether in Business or Economy Class. With the recent addition of WiFi connectivity and live television, our high-quality service, convenient travel schedule and great value for money continues to be popular with our passengers."
