Muscat: Due to high demand to and from Salalah on July 28 and 29, Oman Air will operate an extra Muscat-Salalah-Muscat flight, the airline tweeted on its official twitter handle.
According to the airline, WY3917 will depart from Muscat at 08.00 and arrive Salalah at 09.40. Flight No WY3918 will depart Salalah at 10.55 and arrive Muscat at 12.35.
The number of visitors to Salalah until 25th July 2016 surged by a whopping 39.9% compared with figures for the same period last year, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics & Information.
The total visitors rose to 215,128 as of 18th July, from 153,780 visitors during the comparable period last year.
NCSI statistics show that as many as 39,949 visitors reached Salalah by air as against 175,179 visitors who arrived by land.
NCSI report says the majority of them, numbering 26,150 arrived on domestic flights while international carriers brought in 13,799 visitors.
