Tennis: Oman star Fatma Al Nabhani's run at Maaseik Open ends in semifinals

Muscat: Top seeded Omani international tennis star Fatma Al Nabhani crashed out of the $10,000 International Tennis Federations (ITF) Maaseik Surtegno Open 2016 in Belgium losing in semifinals of the women's singles and doubles semifinals respectively.
Fatma Al Nabhani lost to Belgium's sixth seeded Deborah Kerfs 1-6, 2-6 in the singles semifinals, while Deborah teamed up with Chiara Scholl of USA as the fourth seeds defeated top seeded pair of Fatma Al Nabhani and Netherlands' Kelly Versteeg 7-6(5), 6-4.
Earlier in the Saint Gervais Open in France, Fatma partnering Estelle had lost in the doubles final before entering the Belgium tournament as top seeded player.
After getting a first round bye here, Fatma partnering Netherlands' Kelly Versteeg defeated Eleonara Molinaro of Luxembourg and Eva Marie Voracek of Germany 7-6 (8), 7-6 (5) to enter doubles semifinals.
Meanwhile in the singles, Fatma had eased past Poland's Katarzyna Kubicz 6-1, 6-3 and was stretched in the second round by Colombia's Maria Fernanda 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
In the semifinals, Fatma eased past Jade Suvrijn of France in the quarterfinals 6-1, 6-2, but her run was halted in the semifinals.
