Muscat: Based-in-Oman digital artist, Malvika, loves to paints super heroes, the fictional and the real ones.
The young artist has a website that boasts a range of designs on well-known cricket stars, singers, actors and Olympic champions.
Born and raised in the Sultanate, Malvika celebrated Oman’s cricket team’s win against Thailand in the latest T20 tournament by painting a picture of the red team.
The image received a huge response from the national team fans including the players themselves who commented on her artwork.

Illegal to sell
However, she doesn’t sell her work locally as it is illegal for her as an expatriate to do business other than her job.
The 23-year-old graphic designer’s portfolio is adorned with brands such as Audi India, MTV, Vaseline, and more.
Her love affair with vivid colours started at 18 and it is safe to say she has now become a fully blown design addict. “I consider colours to be my weakness,” she said.
Apart from her white car, colours, inspired by Holi festival, make a big part of her lifestyle and can be seen in the way she dresses.
Malvika’s story as an artist started in 2014, when she was grappling with finding a job in Oman, and decided to start her personal Facebook page to display her work.
More than 4,000 fans liked Malvika’s page and her art is now being sold online in India.

Fan art
As the world is watching Rio Olympics, Malvika created a fan art of the record breaking runner Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps.
“It takes around two to three days of “artwork” to finish a painting,” she said.
She is a crazy fan of Hollywood too. Recently, she painted funky images of Batman, Wonderwoman, Wolverine, Iron man and The Hulk. The independent artist admires football superstars as she drew digital paintings of Ronaldo, Messi, Pirlo, Neymar and a team image of Chelsea, her favourite club. Her work has been featured in Creative Gaga, Huffington Post India, and Emerge Festival and of Indian origin to name a few magazines, blogs and festivals.
