“All the participants were leaving on the same day which made me wait for seven hours at the Brazilian airports,” He said.

The 41-year-old Al Balushi has also thanked the Times of Oman for its coverage of his participation.

It is worth mentioning that he was the first Olympic basketball referee from the Sultanate and third Olympic referee after Mohamed al Mousawi and Abdullah al Hilali.

Al Balushi has been elected as one of the officials in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA)’s Asia Challenge in Iran which will begin next month.
