Ministry of Commerce and Industry starts new e-service through Invest Easy portal

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), represented by the "Invest Easy" portal, has activated the money back service; one of the last e-services package for the comprehensive development of a one-stop station.
The number of e-services provided to investors through the portal now stands at 76. The services have eliminated the need to visit the MoCI premises to complete transactions.
The money back service also aims to facilitate and expedite services provided to investors through the "Invest Easy" portal. If an application is registered twice and registered by mistake and the transaction is rejected, payment may be made twice. The services allow verification of the application and refund of the extra collected money from the applicant.
Humaid bin Hamad Al Barashdi, supervisor of Investor Services at the Investor Services Department and member of the Invest Easy Team said introducing the money back service is a bid to facilitate services provided to business sector in the Sultanate. He added that the service, which is now available for all, saves investors' time and efforts and speeds up the processing time for their transactions.
e-Bayan service
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry also said the number of applications for import/export permits, usually received through the e-Bayan one-stop station, and in collaboration with the Directorate General of Customs (DGC), Royal Oman Police (ROP), stood at 210 e-applications, with 167 applications being approved and 48 applications being on hold on account of pending fees and other documents, since the launch of the service from July 25 till August 21.
Said bin Salim Al Kindi, administrative executive at the Commercial Licenses Department in MoCI said the applications are usually for commercial import permits, production requirements permits, import/export permits, transit of oil products and derivatives permits.
