Bank of Baroda launches Visa Debit Card in Oman

Muscat: Bank of Baroda on Monday launched its Visa Debit Card, which will help its 21,000 customers in Oman.
Vineet K Dudeja, chief executive, GCC Operations of Bank of Baroda, has launched its Visa Debit Card at a function attended by top-level officials of the bank and customers.
The features of Visa Debit Card, which is a chips and pin debit card, include convenient shopping at merchant outlets, account-to-account fund transfer and added securities against frauds. The bank’s customers can change their present ATM card with the new Visa Debit Card.
A K Singh, country head (Oman Operations) of Bank of Baroda, said that plans are afoot to upgrade its automated teller machines (ATMs) with cash deposit facilities. The bank is also planning to introduce e-banking services.
Bank of Baroda has enhanced its single day withdrawal limit from an ATM machine to OMR600 from OMR300 now. However, the customer has to withdraw the money in two different transactions within 24 hours.
Bank of Baroda, India’s international bank having 5,472 branches across the globe in 25 countries, has four branches in Oman – one each in Greater Muttrah (MBD area), Muttrah (Corniche), Sohar and Salalah. The bank started its operation in Oman way back in 1976.
Bank of Baroda has a deposit base of OMR76.04 million and loans and advances of OMR65.80 million in Oman region as on March 31, 2016.
