Sumo Sushi & Bento opens first restaurant in Oman

Muscat: After serving customers all over the Gulf Cooperation Council for more than 16 years, Sumo Sushi & Bento has announced the opening of their first franchise location in Oman by Naranjee Hirjee.
Located in the Bareeq Al Shatti Mall, the restaurant is complete with a sushi bar, unique round seating areas and light marbled tables, which give the restaurant its refined and unpretentious appeal, providing guests with the flexibility to enjoy a dining experience for any occasion.

Head Chef Puneet Katiyal, along with Sumo’s Executive Chefs Tako Rinthiasong and Glenn Sebastian Lacandalo, have collaborated to create a special extended veggie menu, to accommodate the family and owners of Naranjee Hirjee’s personal beliefs and values.
Sumo’s signature menu items include dishes, such as Teriyaki chicken bento (OMR4.9), Salmon tuna tartar (OMR5.4), Miso ramen (OMR5.1), and group pleasing sushi and sashimi platters exquisitely presented with the skills and knowledge of Sumo’s sushi chefs. The menu also includes Sumo’s most popular menu item, the Samurai roll (OMR5.4).
The veggie friendly inspired menu, appropriately titled “Veggie Lovers” includes appetiser options, such as Ginger tofu (OMR2.3) and Japanese dumplings, known as gyoza (OMR2.8). The menu also offers entrees and sushi rolls, such as a Veggie bento (OMR5.2) and a signature creation called the Forbidden roll (OMR3.5), made with nutrient rich black rice, avocado and a Sumo secret creamy kozo sauce.
Along with the new veggie menu, Oman’s branch has also extended their drinks menu, with a selection of sweet and creamy Frappe options, including Red velvet, Matcha green tea and Pistachio. Guests can also be expected to enjoy Sumo’s original menu of drinks, such as the refreshing and minty Sumojitio (OMR1.6) that showcases a shade of electric blue with fresh green mint leaves.
