Modern Gulf Institute hosts workshop on sustainable development

Muscat: Modern Gulf Institute (MGI) hosted an executive workshop under the auspices of Her Highness Sayyida Hujaija Jaifer Saif Al Said, on developing sustainable talent and accelerating skills development for Omani nationals at the Intercontinental Hotel on September 19.
The workshop was interactive and dynamic and involved senior officials from the fields of human resources, training and development.
Amongst the participants were industry leaders from a diverse range of sectors: banking, auditing, tourism and hospitality, telecommunications, power and energy, information technology and local ministry.
“With the current economic climate, organisations are expected to meet training needs with diminishing training budgets. As it is still imperative that organisations provide the right people with the right training for the right jobs, MGI will certainly use the data gathered wisely in our efforts to meet market needs, exceed market expectations and provide top quality affordable local training,” said Deidre Harvey, director of Modern Gulf Institute.
The workshop also targeted the identification of skills gaps in the market place and the participants dissected various manners in which to close them, based on In-Country Values (ICV).
MGI specialises in corporate training for management and leadership development and has four executive coaches, who at the Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centred Coaching provide coaching for global leaders of the future.
Data gathered at the workshop is available to local organisations and training providers on request at [email protected].
