Battle of Britain Ball raises OMR12,000 for charity in Oman

Muscat: More than OMR12,000 was raised for charity as hundreds gathered for the 2016 Battle of Britain Ball in Muscat.
The Royal Air Force Loan Service Oman hosted the ball at the ballroom of the Shangri-la Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa on Thursday evening, with 453 guests supporting the event.
The ball supported three charities this year, the first being Dar Al Hanan, a project of the Oman Cancer Association, which helps children outside the Muscat area who are battling the disease. The second beneficiary was the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, which supports the Royal Air Force’s extended family from veterans to the children of servicemen and women.
The event also paid tribute to Wing Commander Andrew James Parry, who passed away in October last year and the final charity to benefit was the Royal Air Force of Oman Benevolent Fund.
