Delegation from North Atlantic Treaty Organisation praises Oman's policy

Muscat: Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council received at the council’s building in Al Bustan yesterday a delegation from Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) led by Oyvind Halleraker.
During the meeting, they reviewed scope of the parliamentary cooperation between the two sides and means of supporting and promoting them, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common concern. Dr Al Mantheri reviewed march of Shura in the Sultanate and the progress made in the past. He stressed the keenness accorded by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to promote and enhance this march.
On his turn, head of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation expressed his delight and that of his accompanying delegation over this visit, looking forward that the visit contributes in pushing the relations between the two sides towards further progress and prosperity.
He pointed out to the wise foreign policy pursued by the Sultanate based on the far-sightedness of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. He also drew the attention of the Sultanate’s prominent role and efforts in maintaining regional stability and global peace.
The meeting was attended by the two deputy chairmen of the council and some honourable members of the council.
Eng. Mohammed bin Abu Bakr AlGhassani, Deputy Chairman of the Majlis Al Shura received Oyvind Halleraker.
They discussed a number of issues and topics of common concern, as well as means of enhancing cooperation between the two sides.
