American lifestyle television channel set to debut in Oman

Muscat: HGTV (Home and Garden TV) has announced it will be bringing its biggest and most popular shows to Oman and the wider region for the first time from November 1.
Viewers in the Oman and the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region will now be able to get their first taste of shows, such as Brother vs Brother and Listed Sisters, as well as favourites, including Fixer Upper and Flip or Flop, which have made the channel a hit with TV fans around the world.
The leading U.S. home and lifestyle channel is dedicated to making all things fun at home and will exclusively air the best in home improvement, DIY (do it yourself), design, real estate and landscaping through its hit shows.
Hundreds of hours of quality programming, including hit series, Flip or Flop presented by Egyptian-born Tarek El Moussa, and his wife Christina, have been confirmed as one of the many headline programmes that will be aired.
The channel, which will be aired through beIN, broadcasts in over 40 countries around the world, is ranked amongst the top seven cable networks in the United States and has also attracted huge audiences from across Asia.
Phillip Luff, managing director, United Kingdom and EMEA’s (Europe, the Middle East and Africa’s) Scripps Networks Interactive, the media company that owns HGTV, believes it will be hugely popular in the region due to the nature of its programming.
“There is a huge global appetite for our shows as they are not just entertaining, but they are truly relatable and inspirational,” he said.
“Everyone is always on the lookout to recreate a homely feeling, whether it’s a simple DIY paint job, or understanding the property market to secure your next home, and this is definitely the case in the MENA region where many people have several property investments around the world.”
“We’re very excited to bring our top programmes to the region and we are confident they will be as popular here as they have proved to be in other international markets.”
HGTV will be available from November 1, launching on the beIN channel 118 through the Top Entertainment, Complete, Elite and Elite DUO packages.
