World Health Organisation honours two Omanis for anti-tobacco campaign

Muscat: On the occasion of the World No Tobacco Day, the World Health Organisation (WHO) office in Muscat yesterday honoured two personalities who made significant and valuable contributions for the anti-tobacco campaign.
The honouring ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al Hosni, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, Chairman of the National Committee for Tobacco Control in the presence of Dr. Routh Maibri from the WHO Office in the Sultanate.
At the Middle East level, the WHO honours six characters or organisations that have a major role in tobacco control.
In this year, the honouring included two characters from the Sultanate, Issa bin Said Al Kiyoumi, Member of the State Council of Oman, Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission, as well as Sabah bint Mohammed Al Bahlaniyah, Member of the State Council.
