Chief executive officer of Ooredoo Oman resigns

Muscat: Ooredoo’s Chief Executive Officer Greg Young has resigned from the post, according to the telecom service provider.
In a statement to the Muscat Securities Market, the Board of Directors of Ooredoo, the Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company, said that Young has resigned from the Company effective from Tuesday. “The Board has accepted his resignation and has announced that Jorgen Latte, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, will serve as the Acting Chief Executive Officer for an interim period, until the Board appoints a new Chief Executive Officer,” the statement added. According to a report in March this year, Ooredoo Oman has reported net profit of OMR24.9 million for the first half of 2016 as compared with OMR22.2 million in the same period of 2015, marking an increase of 12.2 per cent.
