Orpic appoints chief executive officer

Muscat: Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) has officially announced the appointment of its chief executive officer (CEO) from January 1. Ahmed Saleh Al Jahdhami joins Orpic, having previously worked at Oman Power & Water Procurement Company (OPWP) as its chief executive.
Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham University (UK), and started his career in Petroleum development Oman (PDO) in 1997. He performed a range of operational, technical and commercial roles in PDO’s production business. Ahmed was also chairman of Omani Staff Committee and became involved with PDO extended leadership team.
From 2005 to 2007, Ahmed worked for the Ministry of National Economy as project manager of the Sur Independent Water Project (IWP). He then joined Electricity Holding Company (EHC) where he initially led the restructuring of the Salalah electricity business, and subsequently became EHC’s director of Privatisation and Restructuring.
Ahmed has served as a board member in a number of electricity companies, and is currently board member of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Interconnection Authority and Injaz Oman.
