Richard Pakenham, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Muscat Media Group (MMG) gave a speech to the gathering of over a thousand students from the senior block at their morning assembly, encouraging them to participate.
“This is your opportunity to show your love to the Sultan, he has done incredible things for children and it’s now your time to show some love to the beloved His Majesty. We want as many expats as possible to register for this national campaign so that your names will be included in a large portrait of His Majesty which will be placed in a most prominent public location. This will be seen by many generations to come and therefore this is a historic campaign for us,” he said.

The students were very excited to see the team from MMG at their school, and were absolutely thrilled after the team announced the special offer for schools.
Team MMG will promote the event at all the schools in the capital where they will encourage students to get as many people they can to register in this massive campaign. MMG will also give out bookmarks to all the students, which explains the registration process.
Towards the end of the campaign, the class which has the highest number of entries from their side will be rewarded with a dinner for 150 people at one of the premium restaurant in Al Ghubra.

Ms. Papri Ghosh, Principal of the school said, “We will definitely be involved, and I think it’s a very exciting campaign and it’s got the fancy of the students. There is this sense of ownership that their name will be there, and they were all very excited when Mr. Richard introduced the campaign to them. It has actually sparked a lot of interest, and thanks to the Muscat Media Group for allowing our student to be part of this campaign.”
With the ‘I Love the Sultan’, MMG aims to register about 100,000 participants in this biggest ever campaign organized by the group.
Following the resounding initial success of the Times of Oman’s ‘I Love the Sultan’ campaign, the ‘Saarab’ augmented reality application (app) has been launched in order to make it easier for people to participate in this campaign.
“I love The Sultan” is an innovative digital campaign that will create a portrait of His Majesty using the names of hundreds of thousands of residents, Omani and expatriate alike.
Anyone who registers will also be entered into the biggest-ever prize draw from Muscat Media Group (MMG) with OMR25,000 of gifts to be won.
These include a brand new Nissan Xtrail, diamonds, several iPhone7s, a luxury family holiday thanks to the major sponsorship partners, including Suhail Bahwan automobile, Malabar Gold & Diamonds and Sheraton Oman hotel.
The portrait will be published in the National Day edition of Times of Oman and uploaded on all its social media platforms and website.
