Indian School Darsait Alumni badminton tourney attracts 21 teams

Muscat: Twenty-one teams will battle out in the second edition of ISD Alumni annual badminton tournament which will be held at Indian School Darsait (ISD) on Friday.
The Shifa Al Jazeera Hospital and Polyclinic Group sponsored tournament will have 12 teams in the men’s doubles and nine teams in the mixed doubles fighting for the title.
“With just three days to go, the preparations are in full-swing and the response has been amazing ever since we announced about the tournament,” said Hala Jamal, the chief organising committee head of the tournament.
"For the first time, we have decided to give a chance to players outside ISD Alumni to take part in the mixed doubles but one of the player should be a member of the alumni," said Azeem Ashraf of ISD Alumni.
Mai Dubai will be the refreshment partner.
"We are extremely happy to support ISD Alumni for this initiative. Their inaugural tournament which was held last year was a great success and we are happy to be part of the second edition," said Aslam Backer, Global Personal General Manager of Dr. KT Rabeeullah, Chairman and Managing Director of Shifa Al Jazeera Group.
Pocari Sweat will be sponsored by Muscat Pharmacy.
