Omani artists rewarded at 20th Youth Art Exhibition

Muscat: Promoting Omani artists, the Oman Society for Fine Arts (OSFA) held the 20th annual Youth Art Exhibition, where artists were also rewarded for winning a competition leading up to the exhibit.
The exhibition was held under the patronage of Air Vice Marshal Matar Ali Al Obaidani, commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman, who honoured artists as they won a competition organised ahead of the exhibition.
Kifah Al Mazroui won the first prize, followed by Fahad Al Maamari and Yusra Muqbail, who won second and third prizes, respectively.
Mazin Al Maamari and Bushra Al Zuhaimi both won the judges prize, while Amal Suleiman won an honour award for the Sultanate’s residents.
The grand prize went to Majid Al Badi.
The exhibition is considered one of the most important annual events that enhances competition and develops talent, artistic capabilities and encourages a competitive atmosphere for the artists to always improve themselves.
Maryam Al Zadjali, manager of OSFA said, “OSFA will continue to promote Omani artists and their creations locally and internationally by injecting the spirit of competition, challenge and creativity.”
The exhibition will also display 90 art pieces comprising paintings, etchings, handicraft, sculptures, photography and graphic design from 48 artists.
“The exhibition hall is a platform to showcase the richness of Omani culture,” noted Al Zadjali.
