Traffic awareness session held in Indian school Salalah

Salalah: On 17th February,2013, Indian school Salalah organized a session on the importance of following traffic rules for the students of class IX. It was presented by the officials of ROP,Mr.YakoobHameez [General Engineer of the ROP]and Mr. HadilGawaaz (Assistant at the traffic section).


The ROP officials and the gathering were welcomed by Miss. Simran Singh. After the welcome address, the session highlighted the importance of wearing seat belt while driving, to avoid the use of mobile phone while driving, to follow the speed limits of the roads etc. The video clippings   revealed that the main causes of the road accidents are use of mobile phone while driving and over speed.


The officials of ROP sought the co operation of the students' community to educate their parents about the importance of safe driving. Brochures on safe driving were distributed to the students. This was followed by a few words of wisdom spoken by the Principal,Mr.T R Brown who asked the children to take the responsibility of safe driving campaign in the school and in the family.


The session coordinated by Mr.Unnikrishnan [HOD Social Science] ended with the presentation of a memento to the guest by the Principal.President of the school management committee Mr. Cyril Samuel and Principal Mr.T R Brown appreciated the attempt by ROP in creating the road safety awareness. Miss.ArchanaBalasubramanian proposed the vote of thanks.
