Bagpipe serenade as royals tour Oman

Muscat: His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Wales and HRH Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall yesterday attended an Omani traditional art performance at the yard of Qasr Al Alam Al A’mir (Al Alam Palace) in the presence of His High Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
Traditional troupes performed during the event. HRH Prince Charles and his wife HRH Camilla have expressed their delight over the deep-rooted Omani traditions and customs and traditional art.

Accompanied by HH Sayyid Haitham, HRH Prince Charles visited the National Museum where he was briefed on the history and possessions of the National Museum which was built on an area of 13,700 sq. metres and accommodates 14 halls built on an area of 40,00 square metres.
HRH Prince Charles also visited the Wilayat of Al Hamra. The visit included Misfat Al Abriyeen village, where he was received by Dr. Khalifa bin Hamad Al Saadi, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah; Jamal Ahmed Al Abri, member of Majlis A’Shura; Sheikh Sultan bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Wali of Al Hamra and a number of sheikhs and dignitaries.
Prince Charles was briefed on the deep-rooted history and heritage of the village.
He was accompanied by Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications.
