Muscat: After three successful years, National Finance, one of the leading financial companies, and International Heavy Enterprises (IHE), the official dealers of Volvo Trucks and Buses, are ready to host the fourth edition of the Open Golf Tournament at the Ghala Golf Club on November 25.
“As golfers prep up for the tournament in an endeavor to bag the winning trophy, this year there will be numerous other trophies to be won in different categories,” a statement from the organisers said.
The tournament will follow a Stableford scoring format with gross and net prizes for the men, ladies and junior divisions. Along with prizes for the nearest to pin and longest drive, there will also be awards for the front and back net winners too.
After an overwhelming response in the previous years, National Finance and Volvo Trucks and Buses are keenly looking forward to another great event.
Robert Pancras, CEO of National Finance, said: “Our tournament has golfers from all categories signing up for it; we have players from different age groups and varied skill levels. We see incredible sportsmanship spirit though the day as golfers from different backgrounds get together to put their best foot forward for a healthy challenge.”
“The tournament is open to all golfers with a verifiable handicap. Encouraging the sport amongst all golfers, members of the Ghala Golf Club as well as non-members can register for the tournament. Ghala Golf Club members can enroll with an entrance fee of RO. 8 whereas non-members can register for a fee of RO. 15 which would also entitle them to be a part of the grand gala dinner and an exclusive goodie bag from the organizers,” the organisers said.
“Showing strong support to developing junior golf in the region and to induce the spirit of golf amongst the youth, junior golfers are also encouraged to enroll for the tournament at absolutely no cost.”

With something new in store each year, the tournament this year will also have a special section called the sponsor invited novice golf clinic by a German Professional. This will be another highlight for the fourth edition. To climax the evening will be an exclusive jazz performance and presentations followed by dinner.
