Dr Said Al Shahri elected Oman Handball Association chairman

Muscat: Dr. Said Ahmed Al Shahri was on Tuesday elected as the chairman of the Oman Handball Association (OFA) after a three-way contest for the top post.
The OHA board elections for the 2016-20 term took place at the Golden Tulip Hotel on Tuesday evening.
Dhofar Club representative Dr Said Al Shahri, who polled 16 votes, got the better of Abdullah Said Al Rahbi of Al Suwaiq and Said Salim Al Busaidi of Fanja Club
Bidiya Club’s Amer bin Mubarak Al Hajri was elected as the vice-chairman after defeating Al Nasr’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Amri. Al Hajri won with a majority votes of 22.
In the contest for the general secretary’s post, Al Musanna’s Moosa bin Khamis Al Balushi defeated Seeb Club’s Isa Said Al Jabri while Ahli-Sidab’s Othman Al Qasmi defeated Oman Club’s Hilal bin Fakir Al Balushi for the post of the treasurer.
There were 14 contestants for the five membership places on the OHA board and those who won the confidence of the General Assembly were Muscat’s Qais bin Said Al Wahaibi, Al Shabab’s Rashid bin Mubarak Al Hamadani, Quriyat’s Mohammed bin Khalfan Al Mashrafi, Khasab’s Mohammed Sulaiman Al Dhahwari and Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Alawi of Al Talee’a.

Vice-chairman: Amer bin Mubarak Al Hajri (Bidiya).
General Secretary: Moosa bin Khamis Al Balushi (Al Musanna).
Treasurer: Othman Al Qasmi (Ahli-Sidab).
Members: Qais bin Said Al Wahaibi (Muscat), Rashid bin Mubarak Al Hamadani (Al Shabab), Mohammed bin Khalfan Al Mashrafi (Quriyat), Mohammed Sulaiman Al Dhahwari (Khasab), Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Alawi (Al Talee’a).
