Drifters unveiled for Red Bull Car Park Drift Final 2016 in Oman

Muscat: With the official announcement of the competitors and judges, the Red Bull Car Park Drift Final 2016 is about to rev into action.

The drifters, representing 11 countries from across the Middle East and Africa will go head-to-head at the biggest drifting competition ever seen in the Sultanate.

The drifters will battle it out for the prestigious ‘King of Drift’ title in front of adoring fans and spectators. The long-awaited event will be held in association with the Oman Automobile Association at Port Sultan Qaboos on December 9.

The Red Bull Car Park Drift series is a key fixture in the annual regional motorsports calendar. The unique event challenges the skills of the drifters and the capabilities of their cars.

Throughout the year, local Qualifier events have taken place across the region, with winners selected to progress to the season Final.

Confirmed drifters

The confirmed drifters so far include Abdelrahman Fakhroo (Qatar), Mesyar Abu Shaibah (Kuwait), Maged Abo Selim (Egypt), Emmanuel d‘Hotman de Villiers (Mauritius),Mohamed Khalil Kharrat (Tunisia), Ahmad Karaki (Lebanon), Zaki Lafreky (Morocco), Rafat Haron (Jordan), Salman Mohammed (Bahrain), Ali Al Balushi (Oman), Haitham Al Hadidi (Oman), and Tariq Al Shaihani (Oman).

The competition will be judged by a panel of professional motorsports athletes including Dai Yoshihara, Aleksandr Grinchuk, Kenshiro Gushi and Khalid Al Manji.
