National Day: Omani flag made from balloons in Guinness bid

Muscat: More than 2,000 illuminated balloons were joined together by children to form the number 46, the flag of Oman, and the word ‘Qaboos’ to mark Oman’s 46th National Day at Al Hail Beach on the November 29, as Oman attempted to enter the Guinness Book of World Records with the largest flag ever made from balloons.

In addition to local residents, the event was attended by Her Highness Sayyidah Hujijah bint Jaifar Al Said and the Guinness Book of World Records judging team. Children were given certificates of appreciation to honour their efforts.
