30 Volvo vehicles recalled in Oman for safety checks

Muscat: Possibilities of smoke emissions and slow burning in the engine compartment prompted the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) to recall a number of Volvo vehicles in coordination with Mohsin Haidar Darwish.
The campaign aims at recalling 30 Volvos from 2011 to 2015 models.
Nine V40 models from 2013-2015 have been recalled according to chassis numbers (0000286) to (0249359) and 11 S60 models from 2011-2015 with chassis (0020251) to (0364069).
Three V60 models from 2011-2013 with chassis numbers (0009953) to (0121876) and one 2014 V70 model with chassis number (0293876) were recalled. The remaining six S80 with chassis numbers (0143091) to (0188821) were also recalled.
The campaign was initiated due to the noticed weakness in engine warmth during speed driving and driving the car as soon as it is switched on, especially in cool weather.
Due to the aforementioned reasons, in worst case scenarios, there would be a slight leak from the engine coolant which will spark warning signs. In worst case scenarios, that could lead to an oil leak with smells of smoke. If the oil leak reaches a hot surface, it could cause a slow burning hazard in the engine compartment, according to the report.
