Now, renew Pakistani passport in Oman online

Muscat: In a move to reduce long queues within the embassy premises, the Pakistan Embassy in Muscat has launched a system to renew passports online through its e-services portal.
Pakistani nationals who already hold machine-readable passports can use the system to renew their passports online, Naheed Naveed Atif, deputy head of the mission at the Pakistan Embassy in Muscat, said in a statement .
Pakistani expats expect that the new facility will not only help reduce the rush of applicants visiting the mission, but also help solve parking problems near the embassy. “Some days it is so busy that we have to wait for hours to renew our passports,” a resident said.
According to the National Centre for Statistics, as of October 2016 there were around 230,667 Pakistanis living in Oman, of whom 1,272 were females.
The embassy circular has been distributed to the Pakistani community, Pakistani schools, and Pakistan Social Club members.
