State Council member takes up Vice-President Arab Parliament post

Muscat: State Council member, Hon. Musallam bin Ali Al Ma'ashani, has been elected to the position of Vice President in the Arab Parliament elections today.

The elected included the President of the Arab Parliament (Mishal Faham Asalmi from Saudi Arabia), four Vice Presidents and the heads and deputies of the newly formed standing committees of the Arab Parliament.

Following the taking of oath by the new elected individuals, the earlier President HE Ahmed Al Jarwan, Head of the outgoing parliament, issued a statement reviewing the parliament's activities during the first legislative term.

The State Council members attending the Arab Parliament are Hon.Musallam bin Ali al Ma'ashani and Hon.Khamis bin Said al Sulaimi.

The second plenary meeting of the first session of the second legislative term of the Arab Parliament to be held on Sunday under the chairmanship of the new parliament.
