Sayyid Fahd returns home

MUSCAT — His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, deputy prime minister for the Council of Ministers, and the delegation accompanying him, returned home yesterday after a three-day official visit to Qatar.

During the visit, they met many Qatari officials and discussed with them ways of enhancing joint cooperation for the interest of the two brotherly people.

Sayyid Fahd sent a cable of thanks to His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, emir of Qatar; Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, heir apparent; and Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabr Al Thani, chairman of the Council of Ministers and Qatari foreign minister, expressing his thanks and appreciation about Qatar’s leadership, government and people for the warm welcome and hospitality.

Sayyid Fahd also stressed the existing deep-rooted relations thanks to the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

He said the visit and the tangible results reached reflect the desire and keenness to activate various fields of cooperation.

Sayyid Fahd was received on his return by Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Qatabi, minister of fisheries; Dr Juma bin Ali bin Juma, minister of manpower; Dr Rawiyah bint Saud Al Busaidiyah, minister of higher education; Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, minister of housing; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, secretary-general of the Council of Ministers; and Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Khatri, Qatari ambassador to the Sultanate.

Earlier in Qatar, Sayyid Fahd was seen off on his departure by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabr Al Thani, Rashid bin Mubarak Al Gheilani, Sultanate’s ambassador to Qatar; and embassy personnel.
