AL BURAIMI — The Ministry of Education has signed an agreement on establishing education electronic gate (e-gate), which represents a new qualitative shift in utilising technology and advancing the technological mediums in improving the education process. The project provides an electronic link between the schools and the directorates of educations in the regions and the Ministry of Education.

The project also makes available transfer and exchange of information on the various administrative and educational performances. It also provides central data on the various administrative sectors of the ministry as well as daily statistics. Phase I of the project was implemented in the governorates of Muscat and Al Buraimi. Dr Salim bin Said Al Bahri, director-general at the Directorate-General of Education for the governorate of Al Buraimi, has said the project copes up with the future national trends on utilising technology and contemporary sciences in modernising the administrative systems, research and information technology.
