Royal decree amends telecom regulatory law

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has issued three Royal Decrees as follows:

Royal Decree No. 59/2008 amending some of the provisions of the telecommunications regulatory law.

Article 1: The attached amendments should be made on the above mentioned telecommunications regulatory law.

Article 2: The decree cancels all that contravene or contradict with its provisions.

Article 3: The decree takes effect from the second day of its publishing.

Royal Decree No. 60/2008 declaring the reconstruction of the old market of the wilayat of Rustaq project as a ‘public utility project’.

Article 1: The reconstruction of the old market of the wilayat of Rustaq project, as shown in the attached memo and diagram as a public utility project.

Article 2: Empowers the authorities concerned to seize the required lands and installations for the project through direct implementation in accordance with the provisions of the expropriation law for public utility.

Article 3: The decree takes effect from its date of publishing.

Royal Decree No. 61/2008 issuing the law (regulation) of the AGCC standard industrial regulation.

Article 1: The industrial regularisation should be governed by the provision of the attached law (regulation).

Article 2: The decree cancels all that contravene or contradict with its provisions.

Article 3: The decree takes effect after 30 days from issuing the executive bylaw of the attached law (regulation). ONA
