CBO issues Jewel of Muscat coin

MUSCAT: On the occasion of the Renaissance Day and to commemorate the Jewel of Muscat sailing ship voyage from Muscat to Singapore in 2010, the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has issued a Silver Commemorative Coin depicting coloured picture of Jewel of Muscat.

The commemorative coin is a legal tender for its face value and may be purchased from the Central Bank of Oman. The obverse of the coin depicts the Coat of Arms (Khanjar), the name of the country (Sultanate of Oman), the name of the Central Bank of Oman and the Denomination in Arabic and English. The reverse of the coin depicts a coloured picture of the Jewel of Muscat.

The distinctive features and specifications of the coin as follows: denomination of the coin is RO1, fineness is 0.999 silver, diameter is 38.61mm and the weight is 28.28g.
