National University for Science and Technology conduct its Annual Research Day

The National  University of Sciemce and Technology (NU) helds its annual Research day Monday, 3rd of October 2022  at NU headquarters, Bousher under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shuaili  Minister of  Housing and Urban  Planning in the presence of Dr. P Mohamed Ali Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Ali Al Bimani, the Vice-chancellor as well as the senior NU Execectives and both faculty and student researchers from the different Colleges.  Various stakeholders including industries and the community research from various colleges and departments of NU aalso attended this important event.

This research Day was featured by more than  40 research project posters and exhibitions from constituent colleges. Further,  technical sessions consist of 55 research paper presentations from both faculty and student researchers from the College of Engineering, College of Pharmacy, and College of Medicine and Health Sciences as well as International Maritime College, were presented. The most outstanding presentations and best research work of faculty and student categories were considered for awards and prizes. The keynote speakers from academia and industries enlightened the sessions with the latest knowledge in the relevant fields.  Prof Anupam Basu, NIT Durgapur, delivered his speech in the area of Big Data and Machine learning.  Mr. Hamed Al Naamany,  CEO OmanLNG highlighted the importance of research from Industry perspectives, and Dr. Ahmad Abou Tayoun Director of Genomic Research Center, MBRU UAE  provided an  insight on the  Genomic landscape of rare diseases in the Middle East, and  Dr. Abdullah Al Hatmi, of Nizwa University, focused on research in Microbiology.
